So marked my parts wanted thread found. Just wanted to post a thread about the 2229171 MC for 1970 only E body disc brake non hemi cars. So I am an avid ebay searcher. I know ebay/fleabay gets a bad rap. I just found an old stock 2229171 MC on ebay a few days ago that was rebuilt by ACME. I won't say what I paid, but it was under 200 dollars. Has all the right date codes to match my ta challenger. Bendix and all the stampings. I am not trying to brag, just trying to put a positive note on ebay for the ability to source parts from around the country to your door step. I have had alot of good success on ebay finding parts for my mopars over the years and more positive results than negative. So for me putting mopars back to original order is part of the thrill and hunting down parts is exciting. I just wanted to share my thoughts and let everyone know that deals still can be found on ebay...

Hey Madmax78, great find and price! Always cool when somebody gets a good deal when they need it. I have found a few E body parts I needed on eBay for a decent price as well. 👍

UNBELIEVABLE score! That's got to be worth over a grand, maybe $1500. I found the listing and saw that the seller has a bunch of other old stock rebuilt master cylinders that they're unloading. I messaged asking if they were sitting on any more of these, but that was the only one they had. Better buy a lottery ticket while you're at it!

Rebuilt by Acme Huh? Did Wile E. Coyote rebuild that for the Roadrunner's E-body car? JK..... I'm restoring a 70 Cuda 383 4-speed , Numbers Car that had never been apart before. The master cylinder that came off of it was kind of nasty, but I got it apart. It's the right one for the car and date coded. Car has four-wheel heavy duty 11-in drum brakes, manual. Rather than try to find an NOS one, I sent it out to have it stainless steel sleeved and I was able to procure a kit to rebuild it myself. Believe I paid 80 bucks to have it stainless steel sleeved. I'm working on different components to the car everyday. Waiting for it to come back from paint. Lol

Looks good and I always like when people are trying to restore their own cars and parts. I always try and to fix what I can, what's the worst that can happen is you still have to pay someone to fix it. Even if I can only do part of some thing, it still allows me to get knowledge from the process. People always ask me about owning classic cars and the hobby its self. I always tell them to either have a want to learn and work on the cars yourself or have deep pockets. I no master mechanic but I know how to get into a FSM and read plus the google box and sites like this are great. I am also not sure there is a whole lot of places around that can even work on these cars, there is no port to plug a computer into. Plus who do you trust now a days? I would rather take my own chances on fixing stuff than some mechanic down the road. I know there are some folks around who are good and can still work on these cars, but the list is getting shorter over the years. I am just hoping to continue to keep these cars alive until the next care taker comes along.

The Master on my 70 U code Challenger a 171 P# . I found parts for this unit non existent and long obsolete. ( 1” bore and a particular style piston) I called up Brake & Equipment Warehouse in Minneapolis they knew exactly what to do. They bored and sleeved my original and had the kits for the rebuild. Excellent service and trusted. Since that time they have done a few rare masters for me and price was very reasonable. I highly recommend giving Brake & Equipment Warehouse a call for the ultimate rebuild. By the way, I am located in Canada and shipping back and forth was a nonissue.
