Have a chance to get a set of these cheap. 302 heads. Should I bother? The 360 is going to be set aside until I have a chance to move some things around. I am about to start selling cars so this has to be put on hold for awhile. Have to get the Cougar out of my garage and a Harley too. Need more room.

Assuming they're in decent enough shape where a fresh valve job will revive them (no cracks or broken pieces), the 302 heads are great to run on any small block (273, 318, 340 & 360).

302 heads flow less or the same as what you have. 302 Heads are very prone to cracking. Nothing wrong with 675 head castings. I scrapped a lot of 302 heads to find a couple good pairs, only to have them sit on a shelf.

Yes some do crack , easily fixed !
The 302/308 swirl heads flow extremely well . the 308s will easily flow better than X or J castings , the 302s work well also

302 heads do not flow well in stock form. 308s will flow slightly better than X or J castings, but I gave up on finding any uncracked 308 castings years ago. I will not start with cracked head castings, I put too much time and money into my heads. X or J heads are fine with me. I am not a "Class Racer".

I have a pair of 302 heads on a 318 with 1.88" intake valves added. Minor pocket porting. The real reason to add the 302 heads is the closed combustion chambers. This will raise compression about a half to 3/4 point. That's not bad if you're working with a stock bottom end on a 318. It offers a low budget option to many.

Yep and he threw in a comp cam, lifters and push rods for 100 bucks.all aftermarket.

Gotta love cheap horsepower! And the little kicked around 318 certainly responds to modifications! Built right, they're hard to tell from a 340! Especially below 5500 rpm!
