Hey guys,

Looking into oil pans for my 340. The engine is going to have around 500 horse so should a deep sump be installed or will a regular work?

I would suggest at least 7qt. 5qt is ok stock to mild builds but if you plan on racing with that hp you should go larger.

My standard pan uncovers the pickup on quick stops and turns on the low pressure light, which is no bueno. Kevko pan or the Milodon road race. I've got a Kevco M301 and the baffling will help as does the extra quart of capacity. Both have their proponents and detractors. I hate deep sump pans that hang below the k frame.
