Question for guys who have late-model engines with shaker hoods: how do you accomplish it?

Do you mount the shaker bubble on top of the engine, or mount it to the hood? Either way, seems like it would be nonfunctional for it's originally-intended-purpose (right)?

Any help is appreciated - especially photos.

Anything can be fabricating to be functional and needs to be mounted to the engine. Mounted to the underside of the hood just seams cheap or lazy.
I custom fabricated and shaker hood and functional scoop for my 528" Hemi with two 1050 Dominators on top of an Indy tunnel ram.

Check here, he did a build thread that gave all the details. Not functional, but looks good.

Well the car looks great and there's lots of pics - thanks for sharing that. But I didn't see how he mounted it on top of the 392.

However, seeing what he has done on his car in the pics makes me realize that I can fit the shaker bubble on top of the 392 engine (there's enough clearance) and just figure out how to mount it in the right place. Thanks again.
