middle carb has vac. hose that goes to air cleaner, i'm using 3 air cleaners
what do i do with hose, can i remove it and close off port

There is no vac hose for the air cleaner. The vac hose is to T all 3 carbs together.

If you are referring to the center carb fuel bowl enclosed vent valve hose/nipple, if you are not running an evaporative recovery system, it should be left open to the atmosphere. Originally, on ’71 and ’70 California cars, the hose would connect the 3-nipple crankcase breather. Current new reissue carbs come with a section of hose for the purpose.
