I am restoring my 1970 Cuda and I had the doors recently soda blasted and now they are in epoxy primer. Getting ready to do the body work on them and get them in primer and block them out. My question is where the driver's mirror mounts on this door. I believe it is bent there, like somebody pushed up on the mirror from the outside at some point. I don't know for sure, since the mirror was off the car when I got it. I'm hoping somebody here can tell me whether this is normal or should it be flat like the contour of the door. Perhaps somebody has the mirror off of there original door and can look at it and tell me. Thanks in advance

over-tightening the screws will do that, too. Before paint, I would definitely test fit and mount the mirror to confirm it is tight enough to your liking. if not, tapping those mounds back (1/16-inch) may help, but my instinct is it is not needed, and the mounds will be hidden by the mirror pedestal.

it;s not supposed to look like that someone was probably carrying the door by the mirror .. as said above tap down the bolt holes fill the crease by the body line with filler and test fit it

So, I dug out the original mirror from my labeled totes and cleaned it up. Looks pretty good. I don't think the area behind the mirror warrants any adjustment. Will roll with that. Thanks
