71Chally RT new to FEBO

Hello All! Have read a lot of great information from all of you over the years but have never joined until tonight. I bought a 1971 Challenger RT that was mostly restored back in 1988 and stated to do some things with it and then 2 daughters joined the family and the car took a backseat! No fender tag, but I believe it must have had some type of SE package on it that included a vinyl roof, luggage rack, chrome mirrors, chrome fender turn signal indicators and a wide chrome molding on the hood and fenders. I just retired in February and have decided to restore the car. It is not a numbers matching car and currently has a 1968 383 motor in it. This will be replaced with a 1969 440 rebuilt engine. The car was built in September of 1970, so it appears that there are some 1970 parts that were used to build her. I have been doing a lot of research on many systems and has been difficult to determine what is and isn't correct. Welcome to FEBO. "Don't You Worry 'bout a Thing" I don't know if I would restore it. It looks fine. Personal preference matters. The 383 original motor? That is a good motor, Keep it if you go with a 440. Bigger is not always better. I had a few 383's one in a challenger. You can beat that motor and it's like. "Is that It!" Build sheet probably gone, but look you never know.

Welcome. Nice 71. I like it as is. I also have a luggage rack for my red 70 Challenger R/T S.E. and for my red 70 Charger R/T S.E. I just never liked how they look, so I have not added them to either car after all these years.

Butler PA. Huh! Walker Ave lived Half way up the hill. Fairview Ave A street or two over. Hazel Ave A&P right there and ball field across the street. always seem to a ball field somewhere and Pick up a game. Virginia Ave, Yost Bakery Close by. Orchard Ave up the hill above the hospital. Game Land Rd, County line road. Lived in Girty, Fenelton and Dime. And a few other places I remember but not the name. along old 422 and 68 . Heard of them? That was 60+ years ago.
