73' Cuda tire height 75 or 70

Hi I have 15 x 7 summit fast five aluminum rims 4'' back spacing on the rear with 225 /75 r 15 tires that fit there v good,when i put them on the front they rub on the lower fender lip pretty bad; my question is can i use a
205/ 70 r 15 tire or a 215/ 70r 15 tire and get the clearance i need and can you mix the different tire height with any problems.......Thanks for any help

Factory tires were about 26" tall.
No problem staggering them as you don't have ABS brakes.
You should recalibrate your speedo though as yours is reading much slower than your actual speed with those tall rear tires.

thanks challenger rta and moparleo for the help looks like i will try the 205/75 r 15 to gain about 1'' or more clearance according to the chart ; the only problem i have is getting those smaller wide tires to inflate on the bead with the 7'' wide rims.......again thank you

Go with the 215/70-15. It is the same height and 154 mm wider. 7" is really too wide for a 205 mm wide tire.
Remember that when calculating overall height, the spindle split the number in half. In other words a tire that is 1" taller will raise the vehicles height 1/2".
Prefered rim width for a 205 /75 is 5.5", 215/70 is 6.5". Any wider and you start to stretch the s/w making a harsher ride

Good Info moparleo, iam going to borrow a couple of rims and tires from a buddy who has a duster with the 205 and 215 tires and see what fits thank you!
