Trying to validate a gut feel on value here. 73 Rallye originally a 318 Auto now a 340 sourced from a 70-71. With a clean body/chassis and a 4 speed obviously not numbers matching I’m thinking 22-23K? Sound about right? Very solid driver.

I haven’t seen anything in that price range that wasn’t a project in a while

Most people on this site are tight as a tick....they barely want to pay 40k for a real TA lol

With a 4-speed and if the paint is presentable, your in the ballpark ..seems like prices are up this year.

Yeah the car I’m looking at is in much better condition. Here is my take: It seems that with Challengers originality drives great value in 70-71’s particularly with the R/Ts and T/A’s. but 72+ there is a hard value ceiling. Considering they only got 340’s best case and there were no R/T’s condition is more important than originality. Restoring at 72+ doesn’t make a whole ton of sense

I would offer 20 and explain to the seller the 72-74 are less desireable and play on that fact and see if you can get it done

He is priced at $20. I’m planning $14 to settle on $16. I plan to put in a 4 speed. It’s a 318 car with a solid 340 & automatic now

If he’s at 20 and u love the car I’d take 16-17 in cash and get the deal done, 14 might be an insult

I don’t love the car it a 2-3 year driver until I feel like committing to a bigger money 71. But who knows maybe I’d love it. I have a 65 Mustang Fastback I’m under water with and I love that car. Everything else I try to stay in the money with. I just sold my 3rd BelAir. Thought I’d try Mopar for a change.

Sell the mustang and get a more rare Mopar. 70-71 chally is always a good investment. I’m putting this js27 together at the moment

I’ll never sell my Mustang. It’s not my original car from 30 years ago but it’s essential to me. That said I’m a Mopar Guy too.
