Are you wanting a "sure grip" differential ? If so, the 489 sure grip is not rebuildable. 742 would be better and also doesn't use a crush sleeve like the 489 does..

I have a 8 3/4 sitting under 72 Barracuda right now. I am planning on pulling and replacing all internals. PM me I will be out there tues and will find out exactly what it is.
