Anyone have any Shift linkage adjustment tips?

My 318, 904 trans, floor console shift, only starts in nutral. I'm pretty sure it just needs a linkage adjustment. Anyone have any tips before I start tinkering with it?

Agreed, the service manual will tell you all you need to know about this.

I found an old Plymouth service video on You tube.
Pretty simple procedure. Loosen or disconnect linkage, manually place transmission in park, place shifter in park, tighten, test. Works great now.

I usually adjust it in Neutral, but obviously Park works, too.
