What is the best way to clean and protect the black fiberglass hood on an AAR? I picked up a roller but it has 30 years of dirt, even though it was covered. I don't want to leave soap residue and I am sure you do not wax it.

Any help is appreciated.

I always just used a California Duster style dust brushes on my organisol hoods.

Soak liberally with water then a good quality car wash detergent and sponge applied gently - with plenty of clean water to gently rinse anything off. Always keep it wet and don't rub the dirt in - rinse regularly.
Do it in the shade not bright sun.
I think you are right - no wax or anything like that on those "flat" type paints.
There may be something developed these days that will protect it but maybe contact one of those specialist detail guys.

I used a slow running garden hose and a lint free clean rag, rubbing from back to front and rinsing at the same time, worked well.
