Hello I'm Keith Collins and I'm new to the forum. The reason I joined was I recently got into a ministry that teaches kids to restore cars. I'm a retired mechanic, but I still restore cars myself (GM stuff) don't hold that against me. Crossover Restoration is in Ft. Worth Tx where a foundation left them various cars to teach kids the art restoration plus try and rebuild these kids lives. One such car is a 1970 Barracuda convertible, 318 car but somehow they wound up with a Hemi. We will need a K member at some point. The car is in rough shape, but hopefully be used as a metaphor to show how God can rebuild their lives as they rebuild these cars.

Welcome to the forum Keith! Greetings from Nebraska! Great to have you with us! It's great that you are teaching the younger generation about classic cars. That's a good start on a 70 Barracuda and a vert is really cool with a Hemi! :)

Greetings from Illinois, Keith! Barracudas are a great educational tool! Hhaving started with mine at 16, it was truly a fantastic experience (mostly!) and offers a wide variety of lessons.

Welcome to the site from Arkansas! Great work you’re doing there. That sounds like a perfect project for the young enthusiasts. The factory K-member can be found but, may be costly. But, there’s other options too. Glad to have you aboard. Look forward to seeing the progress. I’ll look around with my connections as well.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! This sounds really great but tell us more about the facility and the kids.

Thank you for taking on a task of guiding the youth.they are the future. they will become self aware of of success and failure. To restore a vintage car can test ones will. Can be adventures, fun, interesting, frustrating, I could go on. First thing first safety. I would think you are talking about children of age and age appropriate task oriented. Teaching them can give them many skills. Matthew 4:19 comes to mind. Being on this site a short time. There is a wealth of trustworthy information here to guide you. they are friendly and helpful. The one thing that is helpful. It's the picture it show what has to be done if doable. post some pictures so the conditon can be seen. One thing to keep in mind. I guess 4 things. have a plan, work the plan, plans change and most imporant Follow through.
THANKS
