Ebay - Air Gap for 340

if you have reason to deviate from factory setup and oem parts, many like the dual plane edelbrock.
I've never heard of this AirGap. Others may chime in, but if not, it seems like a crap shoot.
 
I have never used one of these , I have used the Eddy RPM , Eddys use a soft alum & are made in China & have poor port alignment , not high Quality so possibly this is actually made from better material or at least equal , could be the casting is more accurate also .
If your heads have not been milled down this should not be hard to fit .
Probably worth the gamble for the price , IMO
 
I find it hilarious when these "air gap" intakes started popping up for various engines because Chrysler big blocks have had "air gap" intakes since day one in 1958!!

Glad I've kept my old LD340 (not an air gap) as it's probably a better intake than all these Chinese "air gaps". I'm betting they are all "dirty" castings meaning it would be hard to weld on one because all the impurities in the aluminium will migrate to the weld area and makes a porous/brittle mess (and I'm no welder!). Hopefully an aluminum welder will chime in!

I guess for $145 you could get one and install heli-coils in the four carburator threads and two more for the thermostat housing and it might be a usable intake that works as well as a factory iron 340 intake. I don't see heli-coils in the photos l, but with cheap ChiCom aluminium, I'd definitely install them!

Just searched eBay and the only two LD340 intakes are one for $540 that need welding and one for $698 that's been welded! I need to sell my 340 small block stuff and buy a 6.4l Hemi crate motor! Zowie!
