Exhaust for a 1973 340 4 speed Cuda

Looking to replace the exhaust on my 1973 340 Cuda OEM looks around $1,500.00 bucks.
Is that sound correct with resonators and mufflers?

I would say that is probably the new norm for stainless exhaust. Accurate only had aluminized pipe. accurateltd.com and ecs-exhaust.com Accurate I got the stainless magnum muffler and resonators. $660+ now about $740+shipping. ECS Stainless Head pipes a pair $550 shipped, At the time they had a $50 coupon. Look and see. They did a good job.one picture shows a side by side to the original.The short pipe was from ebay correct bend but to short.
The aluminized over axle pipes I found somewhere for $150 shipped. Have V band clamps but put stainless band clamps on for now. Always like the sound of the exhaust.When you got on it you knew it and so did everybody else. The Philly Police pulled me over a number of time to check my exhaust. then when cruising down the pike had a nice purr. Than the four barrel kicked in and turned into a growl. I don't know if it can be seen. the driver side pipe is a little lower. That is for when the motor torques the pipe won't hit cross member.

I'm aware of that, but head pipes are easy to modify. Just putting it out there as a much less expensive option.

Yes I agree.Take note of the picture of the three pipe above. all are identical except for the down pipe to the weld. far right is for 71 340 LA exhaust manifold pass side. the other two are for 70 340 LA pass side.

I just finished an install using a complete system from Accurate Exhaust. It fit factory perfect and is good quality with every hanger, clamp, and bracket included. I also upgraded this system to the stainless mufflers and resonators which was a good call for a slightly more aggressive sound than the OE set.

Including FedEx shipping to my shop it was right at $1500. To me it was a good deal to get a complete OE style premium exhaust that I can install myself in house without having to haul the car to some hack at a muffler shop.

Thanks guy's for the information. I could just replace parts of the exhaust but wanted new and was checking that 1,500.00 price.
I think Rons340 setup is what I am looking then going to do it my self also. Thanks again!

Unfortunately the Q-clamps for the extensions were not included with the kit listed on the website. They included the old style u-clamps instead. I had to upgrade those. They will customize the kit any way that you want it.

To be honest, I like the clamps that ECS offers better and if this was a concours build I would definitely go with them.

I did end up with Accurate Exhaust quick and easy getting it. Just hope the manifold bolts come off clean.
