Filler panel color behind front and rear bumpers on 74 Cuda

My 74 Cuda has the filler panels still intact between the bumpers and the body but all the paint is gone. What color were these originally painted? Body color? Black? Silver?

I have seen them both ways. Do what looks good to you.

I've had my 74 cuda since new. The filler pieces on mine were a shade of gray. I just found something real close in a spray can and repainted. I'm not sure if I still have that can but can look. Just saw your post for first time or I would have replied sooner.
