First post - 1973/1970 AAR clone with a 440 BB - looking for tire/wheel size advise

First post (please go easy ) 73 BS VIN cuda, 70 AAR clone. Looking at the old "what is the largest size tires and wheels" post without major mods. Looking at Front 18x8.5 6.13 BS/35 offset and rears 18x9.5 6.75 BS and 38 offset. Bolt pattern 5x114.3. Will this wheel size work with conventional tire sizing to match these wheel sizes on a stock 73 Cuda? Pics for reference - thanks!

Are you asking about specific wheels on a modern Challenger etc.. that you have seen or a particular brand/model of wheel ?
Or are you having wheels custom made for you with those dimensions?

I like the wheel choice also , I would have to work out mathmatically if they will fit .

Unfortunately, no, wheels with those offsets won't work on your car.
Here's a link to a offset/backspace converter.
IIRC, on the front, 4.5" backspacing is about the most you can go before the inside starts scuffing the fender innards at full lock.
Rear, with stock leaf location, is around 5.75"-6" maximum backspace (both vary slightly, car to car).
Also, you might measure your current rear setup, (quarter/fender to sidewall gap), it's not uncommon for the rear to be offset slightly (not centered, side to side).

The factory offset was +6.35 to +12.70 mm, so choices in that range usually fit best. Rim width should be 70 to 90% of tire section width, with the greatest contact patch control at the 90% end. Therefore, an 8.5" rim should have a 9.44" (90%) to 12.14" (70%) wide tire and a 9.5" rim should have a 10.56" (90%) to 13.57" (70%) wide tire. On my 70 Cuda, I am running a forged aluminum, powder coated 17 x 9, +10 mm offset wheel at all four corners, with a 10.04" (90%) wide 255-40-17 tire. The 40% aspect ratio makes the tire OD smaller than original (25" vs 26.5" OEM) so it doesn't fill the wheel opening as much as I would like, but the smaller OD does help with lock-to-lock steering clearance up front. Looking at your pictures, I'm guessing that's a 66 427 Vette next to your Cuda?
