Fuel tank j bolts

Question.just received new J bolts and nuts for fuel tank. Bolts seem really tight. I don’t want to break it. Is this normal? Do I just keep tightening?

Yes, normal. So they don't back out on their own through years of vibration. You can squirt some wd40 on to help get them on.

Who did you order yours from?

I had one that was super tight and actually seemed to cross thread itself. It definitely stripped all the plating off as it went on. The other one went on smoothly. I had bought them from AMK and they replaced it free of charge.

Should be hard to turn since the nuts are nylon lock nuts
