Hi! Does anybody know where to find a good gas tank pad like the originals for a 70 Challenger. I dont want to use the ones made out of foam i have seen offered.(I think they would hold moisture up there) JIMS MOPAR offers the brown tar/felt like originals- but 135.00 bucks is way to steep for that! Any other suggestions?

First of all, NEVER do buisness with JIM's. I've never heard anything good about them. The lady on the phone is very rude, inflated shipping charges, price of parts changing for no reason exc...

I made a new pad for mine using some scrap roofing felt. I glued two pieces of 15# felt together. It was free and easy.

My original pad was about a 3/16" piece of foam type stuff. The top of the tank is still in good shape. It's the bottom that rusted.
