headlight adjusters

anyone replace the headlight adjusters on a 70 challenger? how do you get the old stuff out, I'm talking about the plastic and metal nuts that hold the adjustment screws. I got some new hardware just don't know how to get the old out and the new in. Thanks for any input..

the plastic insert needs to be pushed out of the metal clip first , then the metal clip can be squeezed & removed , even if you break the plastic insert you are replacing it anyway .
