Has anybody here changed out their sealed beam headlights for a more modern type? HIDs or LEDs perhaps?

You will probably not get the results you want unless you upgrade the wiring.. easy to do. Someone on this site even sells kits.

tech info http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/tech.html

I hid my relays behind the headlights on my Challenger, gets them out of the engine heat.

I am going to completely re-wire my car with a Ron Francis wiring kit. So if I need to add some relays to the light system then that shouldn't be a problem at that point. Thanks for the article, it is a good read.

I used a Ron Francis kit on another project, very good stuff. Do the Ammeter bypass, direct alternator wiring and headlight upgrade while you are at it.

Your car to do with what you want, but I would argue that Summit set up is $1000, and wont help the value of your car. For that kind of money you could have a place like: http://www.redlinegaugeworks.com/default.asp redo your cluster, or go with :http://www.classicindustries.com/product/mopar/parts/*rm4127.html

Part of the appeal of these old cars is that the original appearance.

Also this is on ebay right now:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-1974-7...E-Body-Rally-Dash-Gauge-Cluster-/321876178830
