I have an heater box my dad pulled from his garage attic. Trying to determine what is came out of. It has the Pentastar than 2936623 and 95527 markings on it. Anyone happen to know what it fits?

Could you supply a picture?

The pictured item is the heater box assembly for a 1972 E-body, without air conditioning. The assembly was built on Monday, September 13, 1971.

2936623 is the part number for the front part of the housing (toward the firewall), which was not a service part separately, but was part of the duct assembly, part number 2936612

2936622 is the part number for the rear part of the housing (toward the passenger area).

The yellow stamped number, 2936602, is the part number of the entire assembly.

The white stamped number, 2561, near the fresh air vent, indicates the build date.

This is the same part and part numbers used in 1970 and 1971 models.

Any idea what is worth? It was removed from the car in the late 70s/early 80s and been stored in my grandfathers garage attic since.

I have no real idea about the valuation in today's market(s). To me personally, not much, as I have a good one in each car, and a couple on the shelf.

It does have the broken areas, albeit mostly cosmetic from the pictures. The 2936622 part is reproduced. The condition of the core determines some of it too.

Restored ones listed on eBay are asking several hundred dollars to over $1000, but I see no sold ones listed getting that. Units needing work are asking a couple of hundred dollars or so, depending on condition.

The following pictures show my original unit that I refurbished a couple of years ago:

I just restored one where the front cover was broken like the OPs photos. I bought a new repro front housing cover to repair it. It fit better than the original. I can't tell you someone else would pay for it but if I were needing one, probably $100 to $150 would be my offer especially if the fan motor worked and the fan cage is in good shape with no broken vanes. Shipping on something that large would be a killer right now, especially from Maryland to Washington state..

IMO all of the value is in that front cover. If it's broken, $100. If it's not broken, $1,000. That's just because I've never seen one that wasn't broken in person. Pretty sure the first person to sit in the passenger seat in 1970 broke most of them.

Yes, it will work in other years non-A/C e-bodies. Here's what he's talking about non broken front cover. This is from my 71 Challenger when I pulled it out this past July to rebuild it. Note the front opening for the floor (passenger foot) heat on the right side has a lip that is a straight line across - not broken. Also note the rectangular opening going up to the defrost is not broken. The rest of the box is typically in good shape being its tucked up under the dash. I agree that if the front cover and defrost areas were not broken, it would be worth more.
