Hood hinge dont work

Hello to all,

In my 70 challenger the hood hinges dont work properly, cannt with the hood weight

The spring is The problem? Or the hinges complet??

If the springs will not support the weight of the hood then it is possible that the springs are for a fiberglass hood. Have they all ways been that way?

I buy the car recently and I dont know how are the car before.... She comes with a T/A fiberglass hood and the hinges dont support the weight of the hood

So you have a fiberglass hood on it now and the hinges won't hold the hood open? Can you post some pictures?

Judging from your pictures, the springs look to be light duty! with out being there, I would think it's your hing springs that are weak and won't hold your hood open.

The hinges are weak because the hood is weak. If you put stronger springs on the hinge, the hood will warp and most likely break just after where the hinge makes contact with the hood. Choices are to prop up the hood, as mentioned, or replace the hood with a steel hood and add stronger springs to the hinges.

Thank you!! Now I have the R/T hood installed... Then first Im going to buy the springs. Anyone knows the spring tension to buy it??
