Intake Manifold Bolt Questions

Hey folks, quick question, ive researched this issue a bit, oil wicking up the manifold bolt threads, pooling in a couple valleys behind the bolts. Ive read advice of sealing the threads and re-installing, opinions? What is best sealant? Any other issue I should investigate? Also, if I do sel the threads and decide to install new bolts in the process, is there any danger of some of the bolts sold in sets being too long or should all of the holes be deep enough to accommodate? Use pipe dope.

most of the bolts would be 1.5 " you should be ok with a new set if you desire ,
Locktite also makes a green thread sealer .

We use non hardening Permatex on bolt threads, especially in marine applications below the water line. Not only keeps water out, or in your case, oil in, but it is also a lubricant if/when it comes time to remove them. The threads do need to be clean though to get a decent seal.
