Hey Mopar people just built a engine going to put a ready to run distributor in the engine builder is keen to put it n msd are they worth the dollars seems like there made in china now some people have had trouble with them lately would prefer us made but don’t want to spend big money any thoughts

Your decision on what to run, but I use Progression Ignition distributors in my cars. The timing is adjusted via bluetooth on your phone and can be adjusted on the fly. No more changing springs & bushings. Not much more money than the name brand distributors that still need tuning to run optimally on your vehicle.

I use a RTR distributor from Summit. It has been working great and it cleans up the firewall.

I have an MSD on my 70 Challenger, but I bought the MSD in the early 90s when they were still built in the USA. Nowadays, I would just order the Mancini Kit (in house) and call it done.

In my experience I have seen so many MSD Failures I would stay away + no parts store carries parts , ! customer had a $300 tow bill when the MSD quit 100s of miles away , a simple Electronic conversion kit from Mancini is basically a factory design & parts are available

I’m probably gunna get a fire core ready to run there has been a lot of good feedback and made in us and price is pretty good msd think is too expensive for what it is nowadays

I run all Mopar Performance ignition conversion kits in all of my cars except for one which I have and MSD Grid system in my street/strip car with no issues.
We do run hundreds of MSD distributors, boxes and EFI kits on our engines every year. Yes, MSD along with every other aftermarket performance company out there has some issues from time to time. However, they always try to makes things right if there is ever any issues.
