I just wanted to post my extreme frustration with Scat Enterprises. I ordered a rotating assembly on August 6th. I was told 4-6 weeks for delivery. They take 50% of the cost up front. On the 6th week I called and was told they were waiting on the pistons, everything else was there. Three weeks after that I called again and was told they were waiting on the main bearings, everything else was there. I called today and was told everything is there except the connecting rods. In addition, half of the other calls I made and left a message were never returned. Not sure if I am an exception to the norm, but at this point I would recommend anyone here using some other supplier.

Next they'll tell you they have everything but the crankshaft! Sorry, couldn't resist. I understand your frustration. Thanks for the heads up on dealing with Scat Enterprises!

If you paid by credit card, threaten to seek can a refund, since the charge-back fee gets most sellers moving. they are not technically allowed to charge you, before they ship (when paying by credit card) but there may be provision for a "deposit."

I purchased my Scat rotating assembly in early Feb of 2024. I was told it would be delivered in 4-6 weeks. It was finally delivered mid Aug 2024, almost 6.5 months after initial order.

Wow, not cool. Everyone that has this type of "lack of" customer service needs to light up social media.

I bet you thing your the rotating ass, embly. I would feel this way too!

Looking at both sides here. Understaffed ( Skilled labor This is really becoming a problem) or Lack of supplies, other (Family issues, Vacation, Finances)? How long do you let them drag it out? If you want they will make you wait. My thought cancel order and renew the order date with that funds already deposited. But with the same ETA. That way it gives buyer more time to make a claim.

As you did before contact them. And ask them to help you understand the situation. Ask is they would be forward with what's going on. You understand the times. Just about everything is being outsourced. Give them a little praise. Like: "I Order from you because I wanted a good quality produced. Not one that is rushed through Quality Control and have more problems then I bargained for. I need a ETA that I can count on or I'll have source it elsewhere. I don't want to be sorry About the decision either way. Thank you for your help in this matter." Maybe also email it to them so you have and other form of proof of contact.

Note: You can catch more flies with honey then vinegar!

Hoping for the best out turn. Keep us informed. Juan Veldez
Time for an other cup of coffee!

I have been very polite so far, and will continue to be. The salesman did let it leak that they only start doing the "balancing" of the assembly after ALL the parts for your order are there. BUT if you are are still missing your main bearings, in my case, they will take the connecting rods out of your assembly to fulfill someone else's order. Which has been my case for what what has been three times, so far. So, at this point I will ask for my money back on the deposit and go with Mancini.

Soory to hear about your misfortune with Scat. It's not just Scat and I order 10's of thousands of dollars from them all the time. The whole industry is struggling. All these sources that rely on overseas products continue to get delayed due to all the tarrifs and all other reasons for delays.

I understand delays, especially through Covid. But tariffs just cause us to spend more money, not slow down shipments, IMO. And that being said, be honest and up front and say that your order time may double or even triple because of XYZ. And if it was tariffs, they should TELL ME, not take half your money and string you along. Legendary, for example, was very upfront telling people orders were taking forever and a week a while back.

All has gone down hill since Tom Lieb retired and sold SCAT.
I still use their stuff?, but only buy from STOCKING distributors.
For the custom stuff I now buy from Eagle or buy the rods and crank from resellers and get my custom pistons elsewhere.
The sellers are allowed to charge for custom non-returnable parts only. They are not even allowed to charge your card until the shipping date for regular orders, but many still do....
