Just Curious, When did the "title" CUDA really come into being ...

The first time the factory used Cuda was the 69 model possibly only the big block 383 /440 cars

I heard people say they were calling the A-body Barracuda a "Cuda" before it became an official name used by the factory, perhaps back to 1964.

Formally as used by the factory, 1969. However, on the street that had the name much longer, going back to the first generation.

Yeah I can remember people using the term "Cuda" before it was ever a nameplate on a E-body. I also remember hearing the derogatory statement "you CUDA got a better car "!

Sad thing is the first generation Barracuda was a lot better car than the Phord Mustwang, but Plymouth didn't have the marketing campaign Ford had. The Barracuda handled better, was faster with a v8 and beat the Mustwang to market by two weeks. Just goes to show people were stupid in the 60s just like they are now!
