Kickdown limiting throttle opening

I have the correct Mopar adapter for the Edelbrock, but it still doesn't feel right, quick to downshift among other things. I was out in the shop messing with it when I realized the kickdown linkage is limiting the throttle opening to about 50-60%. When I disconnected the linkage, the throttle would open all the way. Now, I did this with the car in Park and maybe it acts differently in Drive (I'll go check it in a minute). Like I said, I bought the car recently and have relatively zero experience with E bodies and small blocks. I've attached a few pictures and can add more specific pictures (or video) on request.

The last photo shows maybe an adjustment I hadn't noticed before??

For what it's worth, I loosened the bolt on the kickdown linkage in the middle of the picture, moved the throttle to WOT and tightened the bolt. Maybe not the most scientific adjustment, but the car runs tons better, like it should.

Any and all suggestions, criticisms and advice welcome. I'm wingin' it here........😂

How you have things connected in your photos looks very good, to me. The FSM lists two basic goals when adjusting the throttle pressure linkage:

1. at idle, the throttle pressure lever on the transmission is all the way forward.
2. at WOT, the throttle pressure lever on the transmission is all the way back.

The slider part of the linkage (at the throttle lever shaft) is adjustable on the 3-piece throttle pressure linkage.

The other rod going down (rod 2 of 3) is also adjustable in length.
Between the two adjustments, one can typically get the two above-cited goals met.

It looks like you have the one-rod setup, and I don't recall if there is more than one adjustment point.

No one wants their throttle pressure linkage stopping us goring to WOT. Where is the fun in that? :p
