I have a 71 Cuda, 383, with AC. When I got the car the engine was out and completely disassembled. I’d appreciate some reference pictures of the engine Bay Area (AC lines, AC condenser supports, pulleys, brackets, the heater control valve, anything would be appreciated). Wanting to put the car back to its original state. Many thanks!

I took some reference pics before pulling the engine for rebuild. Original N code with ac. In hindsight I should have taken more…

I didn’t reinstall any of the underhood ac components but of course I kept everything an I’m seriously considering having it redone and putting it back Soon.

I saved these a few years back as additional reference. Also a ‘71 N code.

What is the round thing on the pass. fender well just behind the horns?
It is the Dryer… replace it. If you are converting to R 134 you need to get the lines rebuilt, rubber hose and charging ports changed. Check out original air. They redid mine. Lot of good info on their web site

Wondering if anyone could answer a question for me. I have a '70 Challenger, original a/c. My question is concerning the a/c compressor. I also have a small 8 gallon air compressor that requires oil. Can I use the same oil I use in my 8 gallon air compressor in my a/c compressor?

Thanks much

Thanks Cuda Joe,

I'm not referring to the refrigerant that flows through the lines and the system. I know that requires R-12. I am talking about the oil inside the compressor body where the two pistons and the rods are located for the purpose of lubrication.

OK. I will be using the original R-12 refrigerant. Do you know where I can get a flush kit from?

Thanks
