Lower Control arm bushing

I really need help with this I have the lower control arms out of my 70 Challenger and im having a hard time trying to get the bushing out of them. I pulled the rubber out and just the metal sleeve is in there. You can't press them out because of that ridge so how do I get them out. Do I have to cut them out ???

Do you have a socket the same size you can use to try and push it through. You may also want to try some heat on it to see if expanding and contracting will loosen it up. Make sure to grease the new ones going in just in case you have to do it again.

- cut a slot down the side and chisel it out
- weld a washer on the end, and press out from back

I used to take a die grinder and carefully cut a slot in the bushing and then beat them out with a BFH and chisel. Then I saw the tap method in Mopar Action. It's so much easier. I think I got the tap from Amazon for about $50.

OR, my favorite, thread in a 1 3/8" tap part way and then use a press. Never hammer a tap. My friend and I use this method and love it. I found the tap on eBay years ago. I believe I paid about $20 for two.
