New rear springs

Picked up a set of Mancini Racing HD springs for 2 hundred bones - never installed. Going on tonight. Should pick up the girls rear about 3/4". Photos to follow.

Please don't put the slapper bars back on. Mopars don't need them, just clamp the springs if you want to abuse your driveline.

I don't want to be negative but my experience with the MP HD rear springs is they sit quite low & sag quickly ,
IMO Espo Spring is a better choice

Unfortunately Espo Spring is out of the leaf spring business. They were a great source.

No sir. Those are off for good. New bushings all around in the back too. Polythene going in as a replacement for the stock rubber stuff.

You can't even find the Mopar Performance XHD leaf springs any more. But I've had them on my 70 Challenger for about 20 years now. No sagging or sitting too low. Looks pretty level to me.

Looks like approx 24-25" tire diameter with the body just below the top of the tire

I bought a set of "P" parts Super Stock springs for my 72 Challenger from my local dealer a few months ago (January 2026) for around $240.00.
Cheaper than the resellers and no shipping to the dealer!

Found them on Facebook a few weeks ago. Guy selling them is the Chrysler district manager from our area and is happy not to gouge folks in the Mopar community. They were to go on another guys E-Body but Owner went another direction. Anyway, not much difference in ride height, and I really do not notice any difference in the ride. I might try and find someone that re-arches leaf springs and reinstall the original ones?

Agree with you in regards to the Mancini HD springs. No difference from my original leaf springs. Ugh.

Add 1 full leaf under the main leaf , clamp the front section & add a couple of 1/2 leafs forward & you will see a difference !!

I took off a set of custom rear springs that I had made 10 years ago for the roller/ported/stroked 360 in my 72 Challenger. With the new 512/aluminum headed/solid roller/ N2O motor I figured I needed the big block super stock ones. The old ones allowed the small block to run mid 11s thru the muffs, driven in from the street back then.
