Hey everyone! I don’t currently own an E-body, but a '70 Challenger has always been one of my absolute favorite cars.
Back in high school, I drove my grandmother's old 1972 Dart 4-door with a 318. She had it ordered with a 4.10:1 open rear end, and that thing would leave a 1/4-mile-long, one-wheel-peel burnout down the road lol! I only ever got beat once in high school, and that was by a Chevette that someone had somehow stuffed a 400 small-block into.

My older brother ended up with this car and drove it for quite a few years. He collected some 340 parts for it. Mostly an entire engine. I am at a cross roads with this engine as far as what exactly what I have and if it is worth putting the money into to build it or not. But that is for a different thread.

Welcome to the madness. So you might have a 340 engine, but no car to drop it in to?
Thanks! I believe it is a 340. The bore is 4.040. The casting number ends in -340-3. casting date of 7-2-70. 1451 crank with flex plate. 915B heads with O next to the outer spark plug. The do have 2.02 intake valves with open chambers.
Unfortunately I currently don't have anything to put it in.

Welcome to FEBO from the desert! I think you described about 99% of us with the "Old guy with a lead foot"! A 340 in an E-Body is a nice package!

And though I love all E-Bodies more than any other make, the 70 Challenger is my favorite followed by the 70 and 71 Cuda and 71 Challenger. And then the 72-74 Challenger and Barracuda! But I wouldn't want to live off the difference between any of them in my like for them. And I still think the convertible E-Body is the sexiest car ever made!! It's just too damn hot to own a convertible in the desert!

Welcome to FEBO! Sorry you got the bug. I don't think it wears off. So thanks for joining the infected
