i damaged the clips that hold the brake cable into the brake backing plate. anyone where i can get the replacement clip? i'm hoping i don't have to replace the entire cable

Cables are cheap INOP, If I were pulling them, I would replace them entirely.
X2 . You could have a/or several broken cable strands w/in the housing that can lead to Stopping Failure.
Unless you're building a Parker, not A driver , Braking is paramount.
In the price of our projects, parts add up rapidly (Life is priceless ). Safety First ( yes, a bite cliche ),
When it comes to Brakes and Steering (Especially), when in doubt Replace it.
