pitman arm

I'm replacing my stock pitman arm with one from PST. when i install the new one do i just eyeball it when i align the teeth? if I'm off from its current alignment what will it affect?

I think it may have a master spline. If it does it will only go on to the sector shaft one way.
Checking the new one should tell you.

Some of the "quick" ratio Pitman Arms are not clocked and must be installed as close to the original position as possible.
I bought a Pro-forged fast ratio unit w no clocking.
Make sure your steering wheel is centered.

As Paharmia has pointed out if there is no master spline you need to mark the sector and old shaft before you remove it. Mark it with two aligning dots.
If you get it out the steering will not go lock to lock the steering box will run out of travel one way or another.
Start with the steering box centred and the road wheels straight ahead and it should fall in to place.
Before you fully tighten the big nut just check things out to see if it all turns OK.
