Hello All
I have a 1973 Cuda which was originally an A/C car. I have removed the A/C but have not changed any pulleys - managed to get the alternator shimmed to work good. The power steering pump was not working at idle so I got a new-reman saginaw type pump. My question is what size diameter should the pulley have .The original pulley was 7" but got damaged and they seem to be hard to come by. I have the same pulley in 6" and wondering if this would work??

Assuming the 6" pulley will accept the same sized v-belt as the original 7" pulley ( it should), you will be alright with the smaller pulley. The power steering pump will run a few hundred rpm faster, but it will be fine. In fact, some of the Saginaw pumps had 6" pulleys.

OK great. I think it was only the cars with A/C that had the 7" pulley anyway. Something to do with the compressor and water pump configuration. Thanks
