Rear lighting harness

I’m trying to rebuild my 72 Challenger back into a 70 after it has been in pieces for 8 years. I can’t figure out what this blue wire in the picture is supposed to go to. Can anyone help me out and tell me what this connects to?

I agree with Rapid fire. There should be a hole in the trunk floor for the grommet.

Thanks for your input guys. That makes sense to me. I don't have the new tank and sending unit yet, so I couldn't look at the plug to see if that was it.
