Replacing Firewall on 72 Challenger

Anybody ever done this? Im a little nervous since I havent.
Im planning on welding a support bar across from the inside of the side cowl panel to the other, and I think I should weld in some temporary braces for up and down as well on both sides before starting to cut spot welds.....?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Chamged firewall and cowl.

Did it on my convertible here: Weld up a bunch of braces first, to hold it all together.

I had a used one that fit better than the new one, but went with the new metal anyway.

I replaced the entire cowl section on my `68 Road Runner including the A-pillars fom the tops of the rockers to the base of the windshield pillars. Here are a couple of pics of the bracing I welded up before cutting it out. Nothing moved even a little when cut the old out and the replacement went in as if it grew there.
