What bearing or bushing should be I the lower end of the steering column tube ? I bought the only one I could find online but that doesn't look like it will work. Looks like it would work for my 69 barracuda but not for the 73 challenger. I have the small bearing that goes in the housing behind the crush can but I feel that there should be something to support the lower part of the steering shaft.

DMT sells a kit, or pieces of the kit.
The lower shaft part has the plastic ring that is captured/held-in by the large C-Clip.
Have you watched the video on rebuilding the column on EBodies.org?

I have watched a 4 part video but he is rebuilding a 70 column with a shift interlock tube not the same as a 73 column.
