Hello everyone.
I have a manual steering box that was removed from a ‘70 T/A.
How do I identify if it is an original T/A manual steering box?
I know the power steering boxes were cast with T/A on the housing, but the manual boxes are much smaller than the power boxes, and I’m not seeing T/A on the housing.
Thanks, Jeff.

Just the fast ratio power boxes had "T/A" cast into them. They were not standard on the Trans Am cars. I am not sure what % of the 5000 or so got them. I believe the manual boxes were just standard production line parts.

There is nothing special about a manual steering gear on a T/A - same box that any other 1970 Challenger or 'Cuda would have got without power steering...
