I have a tick in the motor 360 la .... I can rev it up and ticks with the RPM. I was told could be a header gasket any thoughts ? good oil pressure , temp is good and no loss of power . Thanks

Could be that simple...remember I had a tick on my 318 at idle, so I doubled-up the header gaskets and she quieted right up. I also used the permatex gold header gasket spray.

Hook up a vacuum gauge and verify a nice steady needle. If nice and steady, the exhaust gasket leak is the best and cheapest place to go.

Agreed Rick! Stethoscope, vacuum gauge, stand alone rpm gauge (working under the hood) and even a flexible borescope camera are a must in anyone's toolbox.
