didn't know dodge has two clutch forks 12.5 and 10 7/8 building 340 4speed ebody long one reaches throwout bearing but won't work with zbar short one works with zbar but won't reach throwout bearing do I need a different throwout bearing if so what is its part number?

10 7/8 is the one I am using for my challenger. the pivot point on the 12 1/2 inch long one is 4 inches and reachs the clips on the throwout bearing.the pivot point on the 10 7/8 is 3 1/2 inches and won't reach the clips on the throwout bearing?

Could be a # of things , do you have the Alum belhousing?
The pivot could be wrong inside the belhousing .
What I would do is use the 12" fork & either modify the Z bar to line up with it or cut the 12" fork shorter , reweld & brace it at the weld so it lines up .

aluminum bellhousing yes. so pivot can be put in backwards? I can do the modification and might have to but there has to be a challenger guy out there that has run in to this problem before and can advise me whats in there thats wrong and how to fix my problem.anyone that gets me out of this situation and makes his way to Canada gets free beer.
