Valve cover orientation?

My 440 was rebuilt prior to my acquisition of the car. I'm curious if the valve covers are installed correctly left/right. On mine the PCV valve cover is on the passenger side and the breather & oil filler cap cover is on the driver's side. Is this correct or does it really matter? I've seen engine pictures both ways but more pictures have the PCV valve cover on the driver's side.

Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Mike.

Mine is set up the same way on my 440. It is easier to have the pcv valve on the passenger side as you don't have to go through or around any of the throttle/kick down linkage.

The valve covers varied by year , 70 was 1 year only , , Generally the PCV is oriented towards the rear of the cover on the driver side & the filler is toward the front on the passengers side .

Was this the work around? I think the bracket was off a 400.
