I have 70 Grand Coupe convertable. Original AC, rally gage car.
Is 440-6 auto w/ shaker hood.
Has anyone installed this kit with shaker hood?
Does compressor fit in same location as factory unit?
Yes, I know factory air and shaker hood did not fit.

No. That is why no six pak car either 340 or 440 has ever come with A/C. The compressor must be a smaller Sanden type and mounted off to the side, lower with custom brackets. If you want to use a Vintage air unit, you should contact Vintage Air to find out what will fit. After all, they make the parts.

I have the Sanden unit on mine with a shaker. I got the whole set up from Bouchillon Performance and they sell a bracket that lowers the compressor in the same location. There is some trial and error with shimming at the mounting points but you can figure it out. Good luck.
