The only BB Challengers I've seen that weren't orange, were 383 A/C cars.

They had to have been 330 HP N code automatic cars or 383 2 BBL. cars. The 383 N code 4 speed cars and all of the 383 Magnums in RT's were orange. A/C made no difference in color.

My grandparents bought a 70 RT/SE/new in 69. It was not orange.

Maybe it was a very early car. You never know with Mopar. The rule is that all Magnum engines in E bodies were orange. There are odd, as in 1 of 1, exceptions to every rule. You could order a 330 hp 383 4 bbl. motor in an SE and it would be turquoise with the automatic; orange with the 4 speed. The car would have 383 four barrel on the fenders by the Challenger script.

Early car.... He was an exec. It was an RT/SE, and said 383 Magnum on the hood. The man bought the 1st 1969 300, and always had beautiful and fast stuff. The Challenger was the first non-RB motor he'd had since the late 50's.

Burnt orange, same with interior, white top and long/side stripe. Wire wheel-covers.
