I bought my 71 cuda a few years back and was told it was a "promo" car. Ive found a few articles and threads but none that really explain if being a "promo" car is a good thing , bad thing, or just no big deal. I also found a thread from 2017 mentioning MY vin 100126 as one of three known 340 promo cars with my options. Ac, yellow, and automatic trans.. Maybe someone can give me a quick lesson. sure appreciate it.

If it is a promotional car it should have a Y code on the fender tag and the broadcast sheet will reflect the Y ordering code.
The information you have requested is on the fender tag, or should be.
Post a pic of the fender tag and the broadcast sheet and it can be pointed out if it is indeed a promotional ordered car.
Awesome looking ride!

Promo cars were always early serial numbers (which yours is - 100126) and usually had lots of options to show all the wonderful things you could get on that model of Mopar.

The fender tag has been out there on the Internet before but I do not remember when or where.
Not sure if it is a repro tag or the original.
This LINK discusses this "Pilot" car and again at this LINK.
A different site, Moparts.org, noted these Pilot cars for 1971 Barracuda/Cuda.
1971 known surviving E-body "pilots":
BH23C1B100121 "CAR" 000114
BS23H1B100126 "CAR" 000141
BS23R1B100378 "CAR" 000143

It is on several dealer sites for sale in the past.

FYI - The early Billboard stripe option code was V26 and only in Black and BS23H1B100126 (CAR 000141) has V26 on its fender tag.
Note: The side marker should be blacked out with paint for Billboard-optioned Cudas.

It is unique and likely adds value to your Cuda. Do you have other documentation for the car? Broadcast sheet(s), window sticker, sales invoice, etc.?
