I have a rebuilt 440 bored .04. Mild performance cam, 3.55 rear end. Looking for a neutral torque converter 24 spline. I’m thinking 2400 to 2800 stahl. Any recommendations?

Basically the converter needs to match the cam .
If the cam starts to work at 2000 rpm then the converter in the 2400 range is perfect
if the cam starts to work at 2800 rpm 2400 stall will be a terrible choice as the converter will lock up before the cam is into the powerband .
SO you need to know what the cam is to choose properly .

This is a pet peeve of mine! I hate that the industry rates torque converters by Stall Speed. The same basic torque converter was used by the factory for slant sixes, 340s, 383 high performance and the 426 Hemi because the torque increased with each engine. In reality a torque converter from any of these engines would work great with your 440.

But per the modern Stall Ratings, the 2400 rpm stall converter will work great like @Chryco Psycho has indicated.

Now off my soap box.
