Windage tray for stroker

I am trying to get a windage tray on a 360/408 stroker with stock oil pan. A 340 tray wasn't a good fit. Bought a Milodon 32230 with stud kit and it is almost there. This tray is not as long as a stock tray and I have moved it back so I can clear the shallow part at the front of the oil pan. This leaves the first throws of the crank uncovered. Is this a problem? Suggestions? The stock tray would have stretched further forward. Attached photo shows how the oil pan contours line up with the tray.

Who sold you the stroker kit ?

Campbell Enterprises...it's an Eagle kit. I think I just found the answer to my question at this link. Looks like the same tray. Problem is that the Milodon instructions don't match reality. I think I can leave it where I have it.
