Wiper motor issues

Finally getting to my wiper motor , when the shop put in all new wiring they said the wipers keep blowing a fuse and said I need a new one , I went to check and see if it blows when unplugged but discovered this , what are my options here , is there a new wire harness or pigtail I can get , I need a safety inspection soon and need wipers , I never planned on using them but for it to pass I need wipers , thanks for any info .

it may just be wired wrong. check the FSM wiring diagram, against what you have, and how they are hooked up. If you need to know the colors of those black painted wires, some acetone and a rag may clean those up enough to identify them.

As mentioned, check the wiring to make sure it's correct.
If needed, clean up or redo the splices, nothing wrong with that, if done right.

Im checking the switch and when I pulled it away from the dash 2 wires were disconnected , it doesn't have the pigtails , this is how I have it wired and it works but won't shut off , keeps going even in the off position , I wasn't sure about the brown wire so I moved to the W post and got nothing , any advice.

Is there a part number stamped (I think it's white ink) stamped on the side of that wiper control switch?
I think you got a 72 and later wiper switch.
