I also have 275/60/15s on an 8 inch rim and that is pretty tight with the stock leaf spring set up. You can get significantly fatter tires in there if you use a B body rear and leaf spring re-location kit.

Sorry, I do not remember and the car is currently up in the air for frnt end work.
Also do note that I have Ford Bronco rims on it, the off set is towards the outside. The tires rub a tiny bit and theres lots-o-room behind the itre to move towards the springs.
I'll measure later and post it up for you.

There the same and cheaper than the A body kit for some reason.
The best way to find out how big a tire will fit is to get under there with a tape and see what you have to work with.

I believe mine are 4 1/2" back spacing.

I have a 73 Barracuda and I am interested in the rear spring relocation kit mentioned here. I would like to run a 15x10 wheel with a 275/60/15 in the back and a 15x8 245/60/15 up front. I am new to Bararcuda/ Cuda and need to know where to get the spring relocator kit as well as what back spacing front and rear will be required to make these monster tires fit front and rear.

65-67 B Body Rearend
I called and spoke with the folks at Dr. Diff. The said if I locate a 65-67 B Body differential it is a direct bolt in with the 1" spring relocation kit they use.
Question anyone have a rearend from a 65-67 B-Body in southern California?

I used a standard e-body width diff and relocated the spring mounts to center the diff and wheels. You can play with backspacing to put the wheels where you want in the wheel wells.

Backspacing?
So with this kit you can go 15X10 with a 6" Backspacing and a 275/60/15 or 295/50/15 tire.
I was also advised that you have to replace the spring perches on the diff if you go with the stock E-Body diff. So there is cutting, grinding, and welding involved.
So when you order the kit from these folks make sure you order the spring perches $12.00 for the pair plus shipping.
I just wanted to share that with everyone in case you were thinking this a bolt in project.
Now if you utilize the B-Body diff housing and axles from 65-67 it is a direct bolt in after you swap over your pumpkin and brakes.
I will photograph the project as I make the transition for all to see.

I would strongly suggest measuring the wheel wells before ordering any wheels and tires. I have 295-65 on 8" wheels with 4.5" backspacing and it is snug. Relocate the springs then confirm what backspacing will really work.

I will definately move the springs first then see if I can locate a 65-67 B-Body Dif or not. Then go from there.
Now comes the fun part waiting and searching for parts uggh. I miss the old days just drive to the local wrecking yard and take your pick.
Not now it is like searching for a needle in a haystack!
