This is a good pic of my spot welds. I think the spot weld supervisor was walking by... 33 spot welds on this side, less than 20 on the driver’s side..

3M 4 Inch Paint And Rust Stripper Abrasive Disc | eBay

I like this type of stripping disc for stripping paint, & cleaning crud and hardened window sealant & Seam sealer out of the window channels and rain gutters. It’s a real time saver and will not hurt the steel.

If plug welding the new panel into place I found a hole punch tool to be much better than a drill. 3/16 Inch Punch/Flange Air Tool | Sunex Tools | SX280
It quickly makes cleaner, more consistent holes in the new panel, for welding.

Thank you for very good photos! There is a seam under the putty. . It is difficult to remove many spot welds (ToT)
